Creo que Madrid te gustará, aunque yo preferiría vivir en Inglaterra o en Estados Unidos y en un sitio más pequeño, como Bourton o incluso Cheltenham o Bath.
La canción de Nana Mouskouri que te dije era la que más me gustaba de ella, hacía un montón que no la escuchaba, pero me sigue gustando.
Ahora prefiero escuchar country, Celtic music y oldies but goldies como Tom Jones, Elton John... y hasta The Jonas Brothers (mi hija tiene 13 años y está loca por ellos).
También me gustan algunos cantantes franceses como Edith Piaf, Brassens y Brel.

It was nice to hear from you again. I just wanted to say that l couldn't help but smile when you used the expression "to go to bedfordshire" (as in to go to bed), l've heard it used before. But the reason l smiled was because Bedfordshire just so happens to be where l am from in England.

(l'm sure you already know, but its a county north of London).

Anyway, thankyou for that little reminder of home.

It means the same on this side of the world as it does on your side, I would suppose. A scapegoat (un chivo expiatorio) is a person who takes the blame for something that someone else did. As a verb, we say 'to take the rap for, or the blame for something (uno que paga el pato por algo)'.

Respecto a lo de haberse chivado, que usasteis el otro día, el diccionario que consulto aporta las acepciones to tell y to squeal por el verbo chivarse. Cómo lo usasteis, bien pillo, pero no he podido hallar ni una persona en internet que aporte el dicho en inglés.

Todas tus traducciones son correctas. Pero chivar/chivarse es un verbo de por sí, no un dicho. Por lo tanto no puedes añadirlo.

RAE: chivar.(De gibar).
1. tr. Can. y Am. Fastidiar, molestar, engañar. U. t. c. prnl.
2. tr. Arg. transpirar (‖ exudar el cuerpo). U. t. c. intr.
3. tr. Cuba. perjudicar.
4. tr. Cuba. estropear (‖ maltratar, deteriorar).
5. prnl. delatar.
6. prnl. vulg. Irse de la lengua, decir algo que perjudica a otra persona.
7. prnl. Arg., Guat., Hond. y Ven. Enojarse, irritarse.

Dichos son "tirar de la manta" or "soltarlo todo" or "me lo dijo un pajarito", but no "se ha chivado"

Hola de nuevo Debbi! Como te estan yendo las cosas?

primero que nada disculpa la tardanza de mi contestacion, ultimamente he estado bien ocupado con el trabajo. Si, Vivo en California, especificamente en la ciudad de Santa Cruz al lado del mar. Me gusta este lugar mucho, hay montañas grandes y bosques bonitos con varios tipos de arboles. El clima es muy agradable y templado todo el año pero de vez en cuando nieva en el invierno. La única cosa que no me gusta es que el mar está muy frío la mayoría del tiempo, por lo tanto no está muy bien para bañarse. Que bueno que has ido a Anaheim! He estado alli dos veces cuando fui a un parque de diversiones (se llama Disney Land). Soy Trabajador de mantenimiento para unas parques de casas móviles. Me gusta mi trabajo pero en octubre voy a estar tomando clases para ser electricista.
