Difficulties to finance (something)?

Thanks.

The country was not prepared for the war and there were great financial difficulties

I think "financial difficulties" is correct here; I was looking for these words, but they didn't come out to my mind.

Adjusted your sentence to sound more common. Hope you don't mind.

I don't think @Irma wants to sound common.

Thanks, of course I don't mind . But Perikles is right (how can you know me so well? ). I wanted to reflect my idea that everything that I know is in my mind, but I'm not able to get the things that I need when I need them. Then, from time to time, some knowledge comes to surface and I'm able to "fish" it. That's the reason why I said "come out" (salir). I shouldn't be so daring to play on words with a language which is not mine. But I am.

Es tu lengua tambien. Nadie es dueño de un idioma. Es mejor decir "in a language that is not my mother tongue.

If it was my language, I would write the rules , and these would be much more easy than they are now (at least for me).

But thanks.
