Hello from New England

Hi,

Sorry, I didn't see the intro section before I posted my first thread. I am from Maine and have moved back and forth across the US with my family. Maine is our home and most of my Down East accent is available to use, but I try to keep it on a normal level.

Most US born Americans will have a tough time understanding a hard core "Down Eastah"...it is one of the reasons I am having a hard time with learning Spanish with the absolute needed pronunciations of the vowels.

Great site and Thank You for a place I can learn from.

Kent

Welcome, Kent. I'm a learner too, and this is the best site I've found yet. You've come to the right place!

Welcome to the forums, Kent! Hearing your Down-Eastah accent won't confuse me at all; I grew up hearing it from half my relatives on family visits back to Maine. I can't do it right, though; my family moved to the Capital District of Upstate New York when I was 4, and I didn't leave until moving to Boston for college.
