Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
Well in this case it sounds like you can just ignore him even though it's irritating. If you're learning Spanish and you're learning it right, then that's all that matters. If he doesn't agree, who cares

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
"Nunca he encontrado una persona tan ignorante que no pueda aprender algo de ella" Galileo Galilei
"No desprecies el recuerdo del camino recorrido. Ello no retrasa vuestra carrera, sino que la dirige; el que olvida el punto de partida pierde fácilmente la meta". Pablo VI homework Zach! (I'm too lazy to translate it). Perhaps tomorrow...

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
I will try it in English. Please correct
"I never found somebody so ignorant, that I can't learn from him" Galileo Galilei "Never despise the memory of the "traversed" way. It doesn't delay your way, it head it; the one who forgets his departure point lost easily the finish." Pope Pablo VI greetings

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
i think i can do the first quote
"Nunca he encontrado una persona tan ignorante que no pueda aprender algo de ella" i think means "Never have i encountered somebody so ignorant that i couldn't learn something from him" although doesn't ella mean her so maybe it's "from her" My Spanish isn't good enough to tackle the second quote though ![]()

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
Here's another option for the 2nd quote:
"No desprecies el recuerdo del camino recorrido. Ello no retrasa vuestra carrera, sino que la dirige; el que olvida el punto de partida pierde fácilmente la meta" Don't despise memories of the past. They won't set you back, they'll set you on your way; he who forgets his beginnings, will easily forget his goal.

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
Thank for the translation, but...
How can I say "el camino recorrido". "The way that I already have walked" sound very bad.

Re: Know-it-alls (or attempted ones!)
Thanks V9. It's not a bad idea. But in Spain we don't go so fast, Life it's a long way
