I really don't know what to say. If I am to translate it from Spanish to English:
ten en cuenta el viaje ![]() mantenme al corriente de tu status = "keep me posted on your (social) condition" or maybe by influence of English "keep me posted about your location, plans and the date of your arrival in case you confirm your visit" You are giving little context. If I have to use my crystal ball or I am in the mood of writing a story, I would say the plot is: you are having a long trip to visit a lot of places in a Spanish speaking region; this lady lives a bit out of your main travel itinerary (estará padre el viaje...) and you have to detour quite a lot to meet her (ten en cuenta el viaje...); ... But we need the context.

Explaining it in English is difficult to me, but I'll try. You maybe have to ask the typical "Do you know some hotel or other accommodation close to your home that you could recommend?" and you'll got the answer "you are invited to my house and I won't accept a 'no' for answer" or "you may come home ... but if you prefer a nice hotel ..." or "I know a nice hotel in the neighbourhood so we can dine at home every night" or "yes, there are some hotels but no-one I can recommend" and so on, if you catch my drift. This kind of questions asked in a casual manner may clarify the situation. As Tim Gunn would say: use them wisely and, make it work!

Well, she's asking you not to give up the trip and she's saying she'd like to have you as a guest, and that you'll enjoy the holidays. I wouldn't say she's not interested.

Good call. Smart advice. I will definitely use something like that. When she first invited me, it seemed like she was inviting me to stay at her house. Now it is unclear. I'll mention something about hotels/hostels in the area and see what type of response I get.
Last edited by AngelicaDeAlquezar; November 19, 2010 at 03:27 PM.
