Exclamation Le gusta que le regalen el oído

Meaning: You have to repeat things to him over and over again, because he doesn´t pay attention.

To have one's ears painted on
This phrase is used when it's obvious that someone has not paid attention to what has been said.

I've asked you to do that three times already. Do I have to repeat myself again?!? Are your ears painted on?

regalar los oídos = flatter someone (say something that is a gift to the ears)

Do you use this expression for people who aren't paying attention, as if they must like to hear things over and over (but certainly not flattery)?

The other day my brother asked me where I was going? It was my time for acupunture. He knows I go to the acupunturist every Tuesday at 10 30. And he still asked where I was going. Then I told him, why don´t you think a little bit, te gusta que te regalen el oído. That´s the context it used in my region.

Hmmm.
These are things I would say if someone is always forgetting, or not understanding, what has been said many times.

Must I spell out everything for you?
Do I have to spell it out everytime?

If it's a matter of someone not thinking things through, these kinds of sentences can be used (they mean the same thing as, "Why don't you think a little bit?").

Put on your thinking cap.
Where's your brain today?
Shall we send out a search party for your brain?

If it's a matter of being tired of explaining yourself once again, these sentences convey the idea.

We've rehearsed this a million times.
We've gone/been over this many times.

I've found this:
Quote:
