It was cloudy all day, but, as if by magic, the sun came out.
I was looking at the Monet painting, and then, out of the blue (or as if by magic), I saw the water lilies.

Robin, I heard "out of magic" in the sense of "running out of magic", (quedarse sin magia, agotar toda la magia que tenía).
Example, ... it seems Curry has run out of magic. (Curry is an unbelievable basketball player..., in case you wonder) You could also say, Science arose out of magic, which it ultimately displaced. La ciencia surgió a partir de la magia, que en última instancia reemplazó... But, of course, that is a different meaning than "por arte de magia"... ¡Y que no se nos acabe la magia de las palabras!
