Hello Everyone : )

¿Qué tal? Mucho gusto, me llamo Todd. Ahora soy un estudiante que está tomando Español AP en mi colegio y quiero mejorar mi español.

What's up everyone? I'm Todd and I've decided to join these forums in order to improve my Spanish for a course I'm taking in high school. I really love the language and am hoping to expand my vocabulary (including slang!) and improving my grasp of grammar.

One quick question: I had no idea what "tomísimo" meant, so I looked "tomo" up on Google - is "tome" an accurate translation? I had no idea the -ísima and -ísimo suffixes could be applied to nouns...

Yes, "tome" is an accurate translation, and yes, the -ísimo ending is not normally applied to nouns, but it can be in some cases. The most common use of -ísimo is to augment adverbs.

I didn't understand anything.

You meant that the word Tomisimo relatively means Tome and the ending of the phrase isimo is equivalent to an noun.

Well, I'm waiting for the answer, because really I'm now confuse with the answer and the question, if the word Tomisimo's a complete means in the dictionary then you tell me, if it's not a means in the dictionary then. Where did you get the phrase?

Gracias por las bienvenidas, todos. : )

Tomisimo: I think Crotalito is asking where you got the term 'tomísimo' from & what exactly does it mean.
irmamar: Thank you! Haha. Does your username mean "to go breastfeeding"?
jchen: ¡Otra estudiante de colegio! Que bueno. : )

Si supieras suficiente español, sabrías que "to go breastfeeding" se dice "ir a mamar". Tendrías que estudiar más; en caso contrario, puedes llegar a tener muchos problemas a la hora de entender conceptos.

De todos modos, no estoy en contra de la lactancia materna

Tomisimo, please, don't be angry with Crotalito, he was just defending me. Mamar in Spanish has a lot of meanings, and some of them are very rude (even related to sex). I didn't like mellamotodito answer and Crotalito understood me. Of course, none of them were in my mind when I chose my nick (it's just three starting names together, one of them is mar -sea-)

Thanks, Crotalito.

I actually didn't even see "me llamo todito"'s post. I should have reprimanded them as well for getting off-topic.

I thought your username was Irma and you liked the sea.

So, you should reprimand me because I made a commentary about his name. I beg your pardon (everybody)

Haha, I didn't mean any offense by that comment. :P I had a hilarious Spanish teacher who'd poke fun at the people who forgot the accent over "mamá" by telling us what "mama" means...
