Hola, ¿cómo se diría "I commit myself to learning Spanish"

Me aplico a aprender el español
Aposto por comprender el español (no estoy seguro ahí)
Seguro que hay otros..
¿podríais informarme de cuál es lo mejor?

"Me aplico" is a good one, although not that common (at least in Mexico). And "apostar" (apuesto) is not appropriate. That's "to bet".

Me comprometo a aprender español. (The standard one, I'd say)

Me estoy dedicando a aprender español. (The gerund gives more idea of a continuous effort)


Some other ways to express a similar idea:

· Realmente (actually) quiero aprender español.
· Quiero aprender español en serio (seriously).


There will be many more from other forummers, I think.

¡Muchas gracias! comprometerse - una palabra más larga... os comprometisteis a conjugar ese verbo pero es demasiado largo

También me gusta "estoy dedicando", ¿Hay un verbo dedicarse?

Había pensado que aposto suena raro. gracias para corregirme.

Sí, Angélica lo ha usado: "Me estoy dedicando". Pero cuidado, porque connota tu ocupación principal. "¿A qué te dedicas?" en inglés sería "What do you do?"

@pjt: ocupación principal is "me dedico a ...".
"Me estoy dedicando a ..." es una ocupación temporal, que requiere atención.


@Bob: He visto "forummer" en varios foros y la tomé de manera natural, pero debí haberla puesto entre comillas.
