Cursivo
Hola a todos!
¿Qué significa "cursivo" en esta frase? La conversación entre la mujer y el hombre se ha terminado, y el dueño del restaurante, que ha seguido el diálogo con atención, le dirige a ella un cursivo "hasta mañana", sin sonreír. Muchas gracias de antemano

I guess it means curt or cursory. But I had never seen it used that way.
 Letra cursiva means italics

Yes - "curt", "cursory" = "brusco", "con descuido" in this context.

"Cursivo" en gramática indica aspecto durativo, que se está desarrollando la acción. Tal vez el dueño del restaurante le lanza a la mujer un "hasta mañana" esperando volver a verla, alargando el momento presente hasta el día siguiente. Es curioso que lo diga sin sonreír, pero crear extrañeza es natural en literatura. Habría que ver el contexto y si el personaje del dueño del restaurante tiene alguna importancia.
No sé si tiene nada que ver, pero es una posibilidad.

Lo curioso es que cuando escribí mi explicación de esta palabra lo hice basándome en el contexto. Cuando Chileno dijo que no existía, miré en Google y no encontré ninguna definición que no se refiriera a italics.

la verdad es que me ha sorprendido bastante este uso, usualmente relaciono, como M Jose, cursiva con el tipo de letra.
El origen de cursiva es la de letra que se enlaza entre sí, así que habrá que suponer que el corto cursivo significa "mañana seguimos" La conversación entre la mujer y el hombre se ha terminado, y el dueño del restaurante, que ha seguido el diálogo con atención, le dirige a ella un cursivo "hasta mañana", sin sonreír. le indica que mañara seguirán con un "hasta mañana", sin sonreir de acuerdo con irmamar. saludos

En la novela, hasta este momento el dueño del restaurante se comporta a la mujer amistοsamente, como a todos los clientes. Pero a partir de este momento, después de escucharla hablar con el hombre (una conversación sobre los años pasados en Alemania, un tema que les importa a todos, que todos son refugiados), su comportamiento se hace más frío. Más abajo dice: "Después de unos días, cuando la mujer vuelve al restaurante, el dueño la saluda parcamente y le ofrece sin una palabra el vaso habitual de aguardiente". Entonces, creo que la opción de "brusco, indiferente" encaja ¿no?

realmente no entiendo que significa la palabra "cursivo" aquí. Por lo indicado por Elisatas, cada vez lo veo más parecido a "corto, seco" ó el referido "brusco". El "indiferente" no lo veo tanto.
