agree with angelica
a "tercero ajeno" is someone not only neutral to a dispute between two people, but usually unknow to them "Los dos detenidos comenzaron a pelear en la calle, golpeando a un tercero ajeno." But more context is better. saludos ![]()

Gracias ![]()

The way I see it.
Tercero = third party Ajeno = not connected/foreign/alien/beyond our control/not belonging I would not use it, at least in Chile, just as "tercero ajeno" it has to come with something else, that would explain the no connection etc... http://johancamargoacosta.obolog.com...a-tiene-308683 |

I follow and understand all the above posts. Yet, I believe the most common Spanish usage is "tercero ajeno a [whatever is the object]"
It seems to be used mainly in Judiciary expressions and Law collocations. |

I have never heared "tercero ajeno" before, and I have some contact with lawyers and all that stuff.. Here you would almost always say: "terceros"
"Sin perjuicios/daños a terceros" is a sentence you would read everywhere. And I'm quite sure this is not only a local thing but common in most Spanish speaking countries.
