Baby Shower

Is there someone that could help me translate the word Baby Shower. For example, We are giving my sister a Baby Shower.

There probably isn't a universal translation - this celebration isn't done in Spain (as far as people on the Internet are saying).

According to Wiki:
Una baby shower es una fiesta en las que unos futuros padres reciben obsequios para su hijo esperado o ya nacido.


Por convención, una baby shower tiene como fin ayudar a los padres a obtener objetos que necesitarán para su niño (como ropa de bebé, etc.). Es una tradición popular en Estados Unidos y en otras culturas influenciados por la cultura y los medios de comunicación estadounidenses. En algunos países esta fiesta no se celebra hasta que el bebé ha nacido.
  • En Peru, Ecuador y Venezuela se conoce como "baby shower"
  • En Argentina se conoce como «fiesta de pañales»
  • En Costa Rica se dice «té de canastilla»
  • En México se denomina «ducha del bebé»
  • En el norte de México, algunos periódicos, preocupados por proteger la integridad del idioma español (y evitar el espánglish), se refieren a este tipo de celebración como «fiesta prenatal»
  • También se la conoce como «agasajo para futura mamá»

In México, they also use the English term "baby shower".

As Rusty says (great work ) this celebration isn't done in Spain.
The onlu term I would use is "fiesta prenatal" or "fiesta de anuncio de bebé", but more as a way to explain it rather tahn a fixed term
