Hola,
I cannot get my head around meterse, i am so used to poner, could somebody explain when to use it, or better still when not use it, for example could i say me meto en la cama?? o something similar. saludos P sid. |

You can also use it in the sense of ''getting involved in''.
¡No te metas en esa bronca! Don't get involved in that mess! No me quiero meter en ese asunto. I don't want to get caught up in that business. Where I live ''un(a) metiche'' is a person who sticks their nose in everybody's business. |

Once when some tree surgeons came to the house to remove a fallen tree from the back yard I heard one of the crew members say ¿Cómo se mete? when he didn't know which way to go to gain access to the main trunk. So apparently it can be a synonym for entrar.

That use sounds a bit strange to me...

Right, that's just what he was thinking - maybe I didn't explain the situation too well since he was looking for a way to get himself through a mass of tangled limbs on the ground to reach the trunk- so meterse can also mean entrar con dificultad?
