Does this mean a haunting/to haunt?
or does it just mean getting overly excited.

Firstly I'd like to know. What does it mean?

Aspaventar es aterrorizar o espantar. Pero hacer aspavientos se refiere más bien a una demostración excesiva (o fingida) de espanto, sorpresa o inconformidad.

OK. So aspaviento is kind of like

Haunt es una palabra que no traduce bien al español. Significa
controlada o ocupada por fantasmas.
Hay casas que están supuestamente haunted como la de la película "Amityville Horror".
Una persona puede estar haunted for una memoria.
Hay música con melodía haunting.
Claro que espantar tiene algo de ver con to haunt pero quisiera saber
si hay una palabra más cerca en español.--¿es espectral una palabra?

Por supuesto que esprectal es una palabra.

Y haunted house= casa espantada (del espanto) (que da miedo.)
