This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for January 20, 2009
receta - feminine noun (la) - recipe, prescription. Look up receta in the dictionary ¿Crees que me podrías pasar la receta para hacer ponche navideño? Do you think you could give me the recipe to make wassail?

Can you use "receta" in a figurative sense in Spanish? For example: "That's a recipe for disaster"
