I remember that name from when I was a boy in school. I am not sure though about the colors. I think it is striped? Maybe red and white and or purple. I really do not remember that much.

You do the best you can. All I can tell you is not to torment yourself because you might be placing the wrong accent, or god forbid you might be saying something wrong. Just plow ahead, that you will iron out the wrinkles later.

Think about this. I should not even be able to write nor read this, had not I done it myself.

Mind you, without a teacher (per say, because I took everyone that came in contact with me as one), without proper knowledge of grammar in either language.

It is a matter of attitude. :-)

Oh, I don't know about my English vocabulary (except for when I'm trying to read something that Malila/Angelica has typed ... her English tends to be better than mine!) ... but I knew (from when I studied German in HS and Spanish in college) that my understanding of English grammar would improve.

Have you ever looked at the Tomisimo blog? David had a post awhile back about the subjunctive. There's a comic about someone who has attempted to be better about understanding the use of the subjunctive by trying to use it more frequently in English. That is what I'm hoping to do ... understand my English usage better so that I can apply what I'm learning to the Spanish grammar. AND ... admittedly, the RAE website really does help!
