Pamba loca - Page 2

@Rusty: "bolita" is dogpile in Mexico. "Canicas" are marbles.
"Jugar a las bolitas" here wouldn't be understood as "jugar canicas" ever.

Shame that "pamba" doesn't have an equivalent... I was expecting something like "gang slapping".

Thanks, Malila. Lee Ying's definition of bolita was clear, but I just didn't know it meant dogpile in Mexico.

Canicas and bolitas appear to be synonyms in the dictionary, but country usage prevails.

The term 'gang slapping' would fit, but it isn't something we do in the U.S. (that I know of).

You're right about country usage... one doesn't realize how regionalist one is, until Tomísimo forums appear.

La bolita es un juego ilegal (apuestos ilegales).que se puede jugar si les conoce en algunos barberos y bodegas (pequeños almacenes hispanas que venden comidas, periodicos, chicle etc) en Nueva York y New Jersey y imagino en San Juan y Santo Domingo.

Para mi un dog pile es un montón de caca de perro.

Yes as said before, Poli the Bolita is illegal game in the Mexico, it's commonly used between the people when you want to earn money easily, but if the police get information that you get money of the bolita, they in bolita arrive to your house and then you going to the jail.

Aunque no estaba mencionada antes por lo menos no lo vi yo en ningun sitio aquí en los foros, es interesante saber que se juege la bolita in Mexico y en Nueva York como escribí antes.
