This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for October 30, 2009
cancha (feminine noun (la)) — field, pitch. Look up cancha in the dictionary Le pegó tan fuerte a la pelota que la sacó de la cancha. He hit the ball so hard it left the playing field.

Uhmmm...
![]() Now I hope this will not be considered rude.. ![]() But a Peruvian guy recently told me about the word 'concha', meaning (apart from shell) also to be a reference to a certain female bodypart and this being quite a rude word for it (if in fact there is such a thing as a very polite word for it without using euphemisms.. ![]() I just wanted to check if this is indeed true and also, if this word is used like this in all Spanishspeaking countries? ![]()
