La traducción en mi libro dice,,

Charlie was putty in her capable hands.
Charlie hacía lo que a ella le daba la
gana.

No entiendo la construcción de ella..

LE = "a ella" o "charlie"

Charly or Charlie. Both are correct.

Les gusta cambiar la ortografía de los nombres a mucha gente
