En el contexto de un cole, sí puede ser lo que dice xchic. Pero he visto salones de actos en otros contextos tambien, por ejemplo, en la Feria de Valencia. En ese contexto más amplio creo que "Events Room" sería adecuada, aunque todavía no he topado con una traducción que me parezca ideal.
