Children's cartoons
Can anyone recommend children's cartoons (maybe available on youtube) that one can watch to learn Spanish? Sometimes they have children's cartoons in Chinese with English subtitles--just wondering if anyone knew of any for Spanish. Someone suggested Dora the Explorer but it's mainly in English (or at least the ones I can find). Thanks!

Added to the strange voices, cartoons tend to use too many colloquial expressions... It's not always easy to understand what seems so far from classroom lessons.
![]() @jinjin: In Spanish, "Dora The Explorer" is called "Dora La Exploradora", but many of the videos in Youtube have been altered and turned into rude sketches. However, here are some that may be easier to understand and can be found in Youtube in Spanish: - Caillou (in Spanish from Spain) - Pocoyó (in Spanish from Spain) - Plaza Sésamo (Sesame Street, in Mexican Spanish) - Érase una vez el Hombre (Old cartoon that taught some anthropology for children) Some old entertaining ones (Mexican dubbing): - Don Gato y su Pandilla (Top Cat) - Los Picapiedra (The Flintstones) - Los Pitufos (The Smurfs) ...and you can find in Google the links to Latin American or Spanish websites of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, etc. ![]()

other children series
Juan y totola (Charlie and Lola) little einsteins Mickey Mouse clubhouse (la casa de Mickey Mouse) LAzy Town (villa Pereza) but it's difficult to to find with subtitles you can find them in different spanish versions. Try to find one chapter in both spanish and english.... Or buy one DVD with both language and subtitles. Saludos ![]() Look at this link http://community.babycenter.com/post...arning_spanish

Thanks for posting the cartoon links! I like cartoons anyway, but they are relaxing to watch in Spanish.
So sorry if this does not make sence: Gracias por la linga al programa de infantiles. Me gusta los dibujos animados,...how would I say it’s relaxing to watch them in Spanish? ![]() ![]() I found Pocoyo nice, clear and slow to understand so could understand what I already know, and the Caillou cartoon was nice too, he looks like Charlie Brown! So cute! I didn’t understand much but I’m going to watch it again with my dictionary to learn more vocabulary. The voices in that one reminds me of the voices in my Spanish language cds! |

I know this isn't what you asked, but I have tried watching "Plaza Sesamo" on TV (Spanish version of Sesame Street). I have found it more difficult to follow than the Noticias that are also easy to find........

I have been practicing by listening to Spanish shows for kids from "TVE a la CARTA". They have a section for kids shows that is mostly animated. No subtitles usually if that is what you are after. I would post a link but... I'm always afraid of doing so in this place. Google should take you there pretty easily.

Oh good. Well it certainly isn't spam. In fact, not only am I not affiliated with them, but as far as I can tell they don't have any advertisements on their website. The URL is:
http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/todos/te...les/index.html I'm still not able to hear, comprehend, translate, and understand enough words fast enough while watching the shows to actually figure out the plot, but usually the pictures are enough in that respect ![]() |

I'm use to the children's channel for the mornings when the first show TV is spoken in English mostly the words are easy to understand and as the shows are only for children the people speak slowly sometimes. ![]()
