In English we declare taxes just as in Spanish declaramos impuestos.
In English it's not a common a term, but you can get into trouble not declaring taxes. In the United States the term declare taxes usually refers to paying taxes on fees as opposed to employment. For example: I paint your house and you pay me my fee $2000.00. By the end of the quarter (quarter year) I should declare.

I don't know, but here the government is a mugger and well just I don't agree with them. ![]() For that motive, I have to pay the filed taxes each month with my salary or my taxes when I buy something for me or something else. Here on Mexico don't is good to do deals with the government or you have a new business for your own personal develop.

"Menos da un piedra" literally means that "a rock yields less profit than that", i.e. "it is better than nothing", "half a loaf is better than none" type of idea. The phrase 'advices' to be satisfied with whatever you can get, even if that is very little. Italians have one expression 'meglio che sputto in faccia' (don't trust my Italian spelling) meaning 'better than being spat at your face'. I.e., 'don't complain' about it, even if the 'benefit' is minimal. ![]()

It's better than a kick in the teeth. She's better than a kick in the wot-nots! (Although I don't think the second works as a direct replacement for "better than a faceful of spit"). |

Real Academia Española © Todos los derechos reservados But you are right, "rent" in Spanish could translate as "alquiler, arriendo, arrendamiento... and also "renta" (more used in the sense of the "rent for your flat" in Latin America...)
