You made no mistakes. I was joking with you. You told us that you have heard several Colombians saying no me llames cosas feas. Se puede dar a entender que eres tú que estás echandoles los insultos y así aprendiste su modismo.

OK, Poli, I've been a little thick. They use feo for a lot of things. While in Spain we would say qué mal sabe... I've heard them say qué feo sabe...

But you should know, Poli, that Alfonso once learnt that a friend of ours was Chilean and he said "Chilean? But she's normal". Well, to be fair it was just an unfortunate sentence, he just meant she didn't have an accent. I hope.

Ahora entiendo lo que dices, pero lo oigo así: Sabe a mal o Sabe a feo.(Lo oía mal. Creía que era :Sale a mal porque nunca lo ví escrito.
Tambien oigo: Huele a mal o Huele a feo.

¿Seguro, Poli, que oyes sabe a mal? No me parece español correcto. Lo correcto y más normal es sabe mal.

Creo que sí. Oigo "sabe a mal", pero puedo ser equivocado porque nunca lo vi escrito. Estoy cierto que oí "huele a feo/huele a mal" en lugar de "huele feo", y quiero saber si a ti te parece buen español.

Puedo estar equivocado...
Pero estoy seguro de que...

Huele a feo / huele a mal... No hay ninguna razón para pensar que se trata de casos distintos a sabe a mal / sabe a feo. Ninguno me parece correcto, pero quizá es un uso regional común en algún lugar.

Yo diría siempre: huele mal, sabe mal.

Sabe a feo/mal. Huele a feo parece un colombianismo. Acabé de hablar con un colombiano que confimó que usan a en esas frases.
Supongo que cuando lo dice están indicando que huele a (algo) feo/ sabe a (algo) mal. (segun un Cartagenero)
Una Barraquillera estaba de acuerdo con huele a mal, pero me dijo el modo mas correcto de decir sabe a mal
es sabe malo o sabe feo.
