It looks like you're supposed to choose between necesito and tengo que. None of the answers are correct, not even the example.

The example still doesn't make any sense.

Answer the following questions:
What does tengo que mean?
What does necesito mean?
What does para + infinitive mean?
Does it make sense to follow necesito with tengo que?
Does it make sense to follow necesito with para?

jchen, speaking from my history of doing the opposite, I would recommend writing your answers in complete sentences to start. By that I mean sentences that completely answer what is being asked.

It sounds like your teacher may want you to replace Necesito with one of the other options.

Voy a la librería para comprar lápices.

o

Voy a la librería porque tengo que comprar lápices.

Did she give you any other instructions?

Concerning the example, if it were rewritten like this, it would work: (Where you choose one of "necesito", "para", or "tengo que").

¿Por qué vas a la librería?
(Necesito/Para/Tengo que) __________ comprar lápices.

Yep, I wholeheartedly agree with David, and was thinking the same thing. The example is not correct. Use David's rewritten example and you'll find this exercise a lot easier.

tengo que + infinitive = I have to ...
necesito + infinitive = I need to ...
para + infinitive = in order to ...

Edit: I just noticed that you changed the original post once again. There's a mistake in c. Other than that mistake and the fact that you never used para, the answers you gave are good.

I guess, you need help with your homework, but I don't know if you need write Necesito or Para, Tengo que, then I answered the questions of the best way possible and, if you need some explain about your homework, you can ask me if you want.

A --¿Por qué vas a la librería?
B --Necesito (Para/Tengo que) comprar lápices.

Check for any errors, please, in grammar and spelling. Thank you all.
a. --¿Por qué vas al supermercado?
--Tengo que comprar los comestibles.

b. --¿Por qué vas a la farmacia?
--Para comprar las pastillas.

c. --¿Por qué vas a la tienda de regalos?
--Para comprar un regalo.

d. --¿Por qué vas al correo?
--Para enviar una carta.

e. --¿Por qué vas a la biblioteca?
--Para devolver un libro.

f. --¿Por qué vas a la librería?
--Para comprar una tarjeta de cumpleaños.

You have answered your question bad, because you should use the word Para, because the sentences are questions, it are not comments, then you must use the word Para for answer the questions above, your homework.

A --¿Por qué vas a la librería?
B --Necesito (Para/Tengo que) comprar lápices.

I think the corrects answer are like that. because you have to answer saying the why (el por que) before you say anythingyou hasve to say bacause (por que or para only that and nothing more after that the why (el por que ),for exmaples:

The example didn't include por que, so I didn't write por que before all the answers.
