No me importa = I don't care

No me molesta = I don't mind

totally different from "nevermind"

Mate remember that the words at English has more meaning than Spanish. For example.

Ask. Pedir, preguntar.

When in Spanish preguntar is only preguntar.

Then you don't amaze when a word has much meaning. You only must procure to learn them and also you must learn to use them correctly.

No me importa - it's not important to me
No importa - it's not important (nevermind it, it doesn't matter)

Remember also that words can change meaning if they are together vs apart........

i.e.

nevermind = olvídalo, no es importante

never mind = no escuchar/obedecer...
i.e. You never mind my orders = ¡Nunca obedeces mis ordenes!

I've also seen "never mind" used as a conjunction meaning "much less", but I don't think this is very common.

I can hardly walk [much less/never mind] run.
