It's better to say. "your face looks familiar"
In English we can say, "That sounds good to me" when referring to an idea or a proposal. Example: Do you want to go to the movies tonight?

If you try to teach a language you should never take anything for granted anything. Sometimes, I find myself teaching very simple things to very intelligent people. Sounds familiar is correct, but a face doesn't sound familiar. A familiar-sounding face is an absurd idea. If you don't believe a native English speaker, it's OK with me, but be aware, people will look at you oddly if you say it. Here's the rule:

2) An image looks familiar.
