Beautiful words

Do you have any favorite words? Words that sound beautiful to you in either English or Spanish? I love the word tangerine. I also like dragonfly and tambourine.

I like using the verb opine instead of saying to state an opinion. I learned that it existed in English after learning it in Spanish. También me gusta la palabra chabacano se me hace much chistosa.

Me gustan murciélago, catorce, miércoles, y acurrucadito. Hay muchas palabras que endulzan la oreja.

I also like intrigue, whisper, snuggle, serendipity, and melancholy (as in pensive).

Nice words. Quizá te guste una de las de Iris, pero en español: libélula. También luciérnaga es similar a murciélago.

Sí, a mí me gustan esas también. De las cuántas que hay, ¿cómo se pudiera elegir unas pocas?

Another word I like is ditto, because it makes me think of the film Ghost and the way it was used there...

german words have nice sounds.
really it's fünfhundertfünfundfünzig (it's the number 555). It's like Frühstück (breakfast) words that make me like to say while eating a "Polvorón"
Kleinod it's like serendipity, a rescued old word, and means "little treasure"
Amtsschimmel ("moho de ministerio"/ministry's mold) means bureaucracy (papers waiting in a department)

Try to say "spectacular" in a loud voice. It's really SPECTACULAR.
saludos

Sosia, my apologies! I got derailed while looking for the missing umlauts.

Fünfhundertfünfundfünzig is a cool number.

Y en castizo y poco delicado se puede decir : irse por los cerros de Ubeda, o salirse por peteneras.

When I was first learning German, I fell in love with how several words can be strung together. A classic is the "Danube steamship company/society/corp captain", rendered as Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän.
