Hola mis amigos guapos y bonitas!

hola!

Me llamo Lloyd, de Singapur. Me tengo veintiuno años. Me tengo que aprender español porque me parece una lengua hermosa. Actualmente estoy trabajando ahora antes de entrar en el universidad local en agosto.

Hi all,

I'm Lloyd from Singapore. My Spanish is not ready for writing (even the last 2 sentences in the paragraph above took me a few minutes with google translate to type) but I really want to learn it well as it is such a wonderful language to be able to speak. Anyone who wants to have a practice partner for English (or even Mandarin), I'm always here to share!

Warmest regards from an eager learner,
Lloyd.

Sorry I did not understand this statement completely. Maybe you meant: "I will be waiting for your answer and I hope to hear from you soon." ?

I was thinking, maybe we can set up an email exchange instead as it'll be easier to edit in that and we can keep track of the messages we send to each other. What do you think?

I don't know if it's correct to use prompt for say pronto in English, sincerely I don't know, but if you can tell me if it's correct or it's incorrect.

Welcome to the forums, Lloyd!

Some advice: Machine translators should be absolutely avoided. I doubt you'll learn anything of value from them and, as you can see, they don't do a very good job.

The first correction I made above was to put the opening exclamation mark on your greeting. Spanish requires this. All the special characters needed to write in Spanish can be found in the 'Accents' drop-down menu located just above where you type your response.

The next correction I made assumes that you meant to say 'I would like to practice' or 'I would like practicing' when you wrote 'me gusta práctica' (which means 'I like practice' (that last word being the direct object 'practice', not the gerund 'practicing', which is what you most likely intended to say)).

I also made other assumptions. Here is what the paragraph says in English, with the corrections I have made:

I would like practicing with a native speaker of Spanish, but my Spanish is not very good (I'm writing this with the help of Google translate). I'd like to help you with your English. I can send you messages in English and correct your responses. Also, please edit my post in any way you'd like. Bye for now, Lloyd

This 'deal' may help Jorge with his English, but it won't help you to learn Spanish.
So, my second piece of advice: Post practice sentences in the 'Practice & Homework' forum. (Remember my first advice.) In that forum, you'll usually receive corrections with some explanations about why certain corrections were made. That, I think, would be the best way for you to learn how to write in Spanish. There is a dictionary and a verb conjugator on this site to help you create your 'compositions'.

By the way, the sentence you didn't understand from Jorge should have been written:

I'll be waiting to hear from you as soon as possible.

He translated word for word instead of using the English expression (as soon as possible = lo más pronto posible).

Yes Rusty.

Your corrections or commentaries are very accurate and appropriate for me, at least you have clarified my mistakes in the post, and they are more understanding.

Sincerely yours.

Hi all,

I wanted to ask Jorge to send me his messages for me to edit accordingly. Please pardon my incompetence in Spanish at the moment. I'll post in the homework section and try to look for a practice partner from there. Thank you so much for the advice, Rusty.

Warmest regards,
Lloyd

Hi Elaina

yes there is an official meaning to the name. It refers to a way/manner of speaking and I thought this would be appropriate for a language-learning forum. I hope I can learn as much as I can from this forum as I'm trying to learn this language without any peers to practice conversing with.

Cheers,
Lloyd
