Ronco
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for March 1, 2009
ronco - adjective - hoarse, rough, harsh, gruff. Look up ronco in the dictionary Me estoy poniendo ronco. I'm getting a hoarse throat.

Actually, I believe that "roncar" is "to snore": http://www.tomisimo.org/diccionario/...espanol/roncar
I'm assuming, though, that Chileno was referring to snoring. Maybe he wasn't. He's being strangely silent these past few hours. (Ping! Hernan? Where are you?)

![]() The word game Chileno introduced is between the adjective "ronco" and the verb "roncar", present tense "yo ronco". So a possible situation could be "estoy ronco porque ronco mucho" = "I have a sore throat because I snore a lot". ...but the verb "roncar" really has nothing to do with being "ronco". ![]()
