Guantes
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for July 13, 2009
guantes (masculine noun (los)) — gloves. Look up guantes in the dictionary Si usas guantes para cambiar la llanta del auto, no tendrás que lavarte las manos después. If you use gloves to change the car tire, you won't have to wash your hands afterward.

As was explained above, later and afterward(s) are not always interchangeable. Both words have distinct meanings and are used the same way in England and America, with the exception that the British don't use afterward; they always say afterwards.
