¡Qué fuerte! No conozco una frase parecida en inglés - "Excuse me" me parece lo más adecuado.

You're right, pjt, it's rather rude, but one usually tends to use it in friends or family groups, so it's just assumed as a joke.

Uhm, isn't a 'burro' a donkey?
(Or in this case probably more suitable: an ass? )

Ton père ne travaille pas dans les vitres

vitre = glass of a window

Haha! I llike that!

I think the word 'vitrine' is used in French also? We use it in Dutch and I suppose it's derived from the French 'vitre' being made into 'vitrine'? (Is there a difference between 'vitre' and 'fenêtre' ? I.e. would 'vitre' be more specifically the glass, and 'fenêtre' the entire window in general e.g.?)

I think it's 'vitrina' (i.e. showcase) in Spanish?

By the way, how would you say ' windowshopping' in Spanish?

Solo sé que se puede decir, 'hacer las compras' o ''¡salir a gastar el dinero a lo loco!

Ok!

With 'peninsular' do you mean Spanish from Spain?
