I learned a related word in Mexico-- "ambulantaje", for which I guess the best word in English would be "vending". Do you use ambulantaje en Spain?

Se dedica a la venta ambulante. You often see signs in towns which say "Prohibido Venta Ambulante".

@Brute: Not really. A "vendedor ambulante" is someone selling in the streets. The travelling salesman is something different. In Mexico we call them "agentes viajeros".
