Llevar a medias

Hola!

Tengo una traducción que dice: "The property is not in the best of condition, and even if it were it would not be worth much". ¿Es correcta?

Muchas gracias por adelantado

It looks like you're translating Clarin's (Leopoldo Alas) Doña Berta. That has already been translated by several people. I'm looking to see if one of the translations is available online.

Your translation is plausible. A more literal translation would be 'the property is only half finished'.

I think maybe you mean a bottomless pit?
Though this tends to not be an altogether positive thing.

Maybe 'source' would be a better word to use in this case, 'endless/bottomless source of knowledge'.

But I agree, his knowledge of a great diversity of subjects seems sheer endless..

A font of knowledge. An inexhaustible font of knowledge.

That's true. It is not the inexhaustible font, but the bottomless pit, because most of it is complete garbage.

There is no such thing as cheating in this respect I think, only the acute awareness of knowledge in and of itself being limitless (by its own definition & merit/right..) and the willingness and eagerness to know and learn more.

You know enough to recognize this, look for it and bestow upon us (yes I use this term deliberately..) this knowledge after research, matching with your own extensive knowledge and deliberations....

This then merits exactly as described before in this topic imho..

Agree with Angélica

saludos
