This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for May 29, 2009
barrer (verb) — to sweep. Look up barrer in the dictionary Hay que barrer el comedor antes de trapear. You have to sweep the dining room before mopping.

Yes, when it means to sweep the room/the house from the door to the inside, contrary to the usual way of doing it from the inner corners towards the door.
