This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for September 20, 2008
pirámide - feminine noun (la) - pyramid. Look up pirámide in the dictionary En Teotihuacán, México, encuentras varias pirámides y las ruinas de una ciudad. In Teotihuacan, Mexico, you can find several pyramids and the ruins of a city.

¿no saben que, en Puerto Rico, la palabra por "snowcone (shaved ice)" es "piragua"?
el prefijo "pir-" proviene de "pirámide"....y "agua" es water (en inglés), por supuesto. Pensé que este era interesante. Did you know that, in Puerto Rico, the word for snowcone (shaved ice) is "piragua"? The prefix "pir-" comes from the Spanish "pirámide"....and "agua" means water, of course. I thought this was cool. |
