le fue (de) flor(es), decimos en chile.

Que le fue muy bien y lo alabaron, y resulta que John pago el pato.

correcto
No estoy segura si "se fue de rosas" pero sí de "rositas".
Cuando alguien no recibe un castigo o un castigo demasiado leve para el mal que han hecho se dice que "se fue de rositas".
Le deberían haber arrestado pero se fue de rositas con solo una amonestación.

Entonces no es lo mismo que irse de flores o ir flor de chile.

En nuestro caso, el tipo, en vez de haber recibido un castigo se fue hasta condecorado....

Creo que "le fue de perlas" sería el equivalente. Algo le fue muy bien.

Pudiera, aunque nosotros usamos mas el "le cayó de perlas". refiriendose a que le quedo a la medida.

Personalmente yo no creo que irse de rositas e ir de perlas sean sinónimos :
1. irse de rositas : salir sin castigo por algo que se hace mal
2. Ir de perlas : ir verdaderamente bien , salir algo bien.
Cómo se traducirían en inglés ?

Ejemplos :

¿Qué tal en el examen ? Genial, me ha ido de perlas ( me salío bien)
Nos fue de perlas en el viaje a París.
However :
Se tomó dos cervezas, y se fue de rositas.
Robó dos libros y se fue de rositas
Irse de rositas : de rositas. adv (col) Sin pagar lo que se debe o sin recibir el castigo merecido. Generalmente en la locución «irse de rositas».
