Dando los últimos coletazos.

Para traducir " dar los últimos coletazos" en inglés, se me ocurre un dialogo en el que participe la semana pasada. Llegué al centro de trabajo, y pregunto a una compañera, - ¿ Qué tal todo ? - Ya ves, aquí, cansada con ganas de que termine el curso. y yo le digo - Dando los últimos coletazos , ¿no?. ( que más o menos quiere decir, a punto de terminar pero casi agotado, y con ganas de terminar) Sabría alguien traducirlo.

los ultimos coletazos

"dando los ultimos coletazos" translates to "going into the last round",
as in a boxing match.

A mi parecer la expresión viene de cuando los reptiles o los peces están acabando es decir muriendo porque empiezan a dar coletazos.

hablando de los ultimos momentos de serpientes, etc., es cuando
"they are in their death throes", o "in the throes of death".

Los coletazos que dan las serpientes, lagartos, peces etc... se dice throes ? O es una expresión echa que significa morir ?

"throes" quiere decir "contorciones violentas".

In this context, "dando los últimos coletazos" could be translated in a variety of ways:

getting tired
losing heart
trying to wrap it up
trying to make it to the end
wrapping it up
glad to have it over
glad to be done with it
glad it's almost done
ready for summer
ready for this to be finished
keeping at it

etc.
