"abierto" or "cerrado" is ok.
abrir la cabeza is like open your mind -Tenes que ser más abierto. (accept others opinion) ---------- A: Si no te gusta la música clásica, tenes falta de oído y algún problema psiquico. B: ¡Sos un cerrado! (closeminded) --------- -"El sabio obra y no actua." -Al escuchar esas palabras se abrió la mente/cabeza de Juan.

In another context abrirse la cabeza can be translated as break your neck.
Si no tienes cuidado, te vas a abrir la cabeza. If you are not careful, you'll break your neck.
