In English you have a wallflower, but it's something different. Do you know what it means?

There is a difference in pronunciation between the States and Britain. If I'm not wrong you say /veiz/, whereas in England the pron is /va:z/

Quote:
Wallflower: Since no one responded to your question about this word, it describes a person who, because of shyness, unpopularity, or looks, isn't asked to dance at a dance. It can also be used metaphorically (not in a dance setting) to describe a person or something unpopular. |
